The primary Recruiter for RASEM2 is Richard Turietta . He travels the entire region searching for candidates for various RASEM2 activities including the Mentor/Mentee program, teacher mini-grant program and university partner members. When a successful grant is given out, or a particular program for students (like Netsurf) has an overabundance of candidates, he knows the job is getting done.

One important aspect of the recruiting activities for RASEM2 is the multicultural nature of the region served. This is crucial in recruiting phases, implementation of projects and evaluation. An example would be a project at the Dine Community College, where Dine culture plays an extremely important role in the success of a project. One of the goals of the RASEM2 recruiting efforts is to ensure that students who are recruited for STEM Majors at the University level receive all of the necessary support to remain in the program of their choice.
