What can RASEM2 do for me?

Mentorships, Stipends, and More

The cost of education continues to escalate along with the financial burden on one's family. RASEM2 addresses this dilemma with a limited number of $1,200/year merit based mentorships for RASEM2 students who attend one of the partner universities or colleges. Qualifications for these mentorships include academic standing, a willingness to help other students with disabilities in the RASEM2 family, and application to ENTRY POINT! internships.

The RASEM2 program funds students attending partner institutions in other ways. For example, stipends as high as $600/year can be earned through activities directed by the Regional Center.

Students who qualify for the mentorships or the stipends must meet the following criteria:
  • Be enrolled full-time at one of our partner institutions;
  • Declare a major in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics;
  • maintain a GPA of 2.0+ for the stipend or 3.0+ for the mentorship; and
  • be a student with a certifiable disability

Rewards for achievement is a RASEM2 standard. Towards this end, RASEM2 will be vigilant in searching out scholarships and other ways to support our students.

Summer Programs

RASEM2 provides outlets that demonstrate the exciting nature of STEM to pre-college students. These programs instill an appreciation of the excitement of discovery and the satisfaction of achievement in fields generally perceived to be beyond the reach of students with disabilities. The RASEM2 sponsored Children's College (elementary level), the Summer Science Institute Camp (secondary level), and the Summer Bridge Program (secondary level) are programs in place with many more under consideration.

Making the Commitment

If you commit to RASEM2 , we will commit to you. Our specific focus is on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education for students with disabilities. Within this focus, we are many things all directed to make it work for you. RASEM2 targets all education levels from elementary to graduate school.
