Summer Science Carnival


Students prepare to launch rockets

 

RASEM2 sponsored a science carnival on May 1st, 1999. There were 75 students involved ranging from elementary school to college freshman. Students came from Highland Elementary, Mesilla Elementary, Picacho Middle School, Vista Middle School, Alamogordo High School, Las Cruces High School, Onate High School and New Mexico State University. Many of them competed in a Solar Oven Design Competition and Crystal Growing Competition. The judges were from New Mexico State University. The students launched approximately 60 rockets with the help of FLARE Rocketry Club.
