RASSI (RASEM2 's Summer Science Institute) 2003
This year the summer science institute has the topic of Solar Power Automobiles. Activities for the students included:
- Construction of solar powered amphibious vehicles (from a kit)
- Construction of a solar oven (from scratch)
- A field trip to the National Solar Observatory at Sacramento Peak, NM
- Participated in a "Web Quest" (World Wide Web Q&A Assignment
- Creation and power point presentation to peers on what they have learned during the week
Participants in RASSI 2003 included 31 students (21 with identified disabilities) for a total of 68% students with disabilities participating. Along with the students we had 4 teachers and 2 teacher c0-directors , 2 RASEM2 mentors, 3 student staff and 3 RASEM2 staff. For more information about RASSI 2003, check out this RAISE PAC.
