RASSI (RASEM2 's Summer Science Institute) 2004 The summer science institute had 3 summer camps: Fuel Cells and Robitics It was conducted at NMSU main campus from June 21 to June 25, 2004. Activities for the students included:
- Construction of fuel cells robots
- Robots were built by high school students and programmed by computers. Five teams were set-up and a teacher assigned to each team.
- A field trip to " Insights El Paso Science Museum, El Paso , TX.
- Created a video of all activities during the week of RASSI.
Participants included 19 students (11 identified with disabilities). Along with the students we had 1 director, 1 co-director, 5 teachers, 1 technical consultant, 4 RASEM Squared project assistants, 1 peer mentor, 2 RASEM Squared staff and 1 RASEM Squared student staff.

Sceince with a Flare It was conducted at Canutillo from June 14 to June 18, 2004. Activities for the students included:
- Learning about chemical reactions by building CO2 rockets out of film canisters.
- Building kites and studying about force.
- Learn about rocket design and build solid fuel rockets.
- Safety training to launch rockets.
Participants included 37 students (29 identified with disabilities). Along with the students we had 5 teachers and 5 high school mentors. Check out the presentation on Canutillo RASSI Summer Science Camp .
Science doo Math Bo hol aah It was conducted at Shiprock from June 26 to June 30, 2004. Participants included 24 students (all identified with disabilities). Along with the students we had 11 teachers. Thanks for all the support that made the year 2004 RASSI Camp great!! |
